It takes a village to feed a community, and the Fair Oaks Rotary just delivered, gifting the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank Farm a 48-foot-long high tunnel and weed-and-brush mower through a $10,000 grant!

Rotary International is one of the largest service organizations in the world, with more than 1.2 million members in over 45,000 clubs. Rotary brings together leaders to take meaningful action in their communities and beyond. The Fair Oaks Rotary, which has about 90 members, is one of two local clubs serving our area alongside Orangevale Rotary.
The Fair Oaks Rotary has been a long-time partner of the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Community Foundation. Each year, they fund a local grant project, matched by the Rotary District, to strengthen community programs.
“We’ve donated around $25,000 and 2,000 volunteer hours to the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Community Foundation to support several projects over the past five years,” said Bruce Vincent with Fair Oaks Rotary. “The Food Bank and its Farm is this great community organization, and we really like doing things with them.”
This latest gift comes at a critical time for the Food Bank Farm, which in 2025 has already produced more than 21,000 pounds of fresh vegetables to serve the community. The Food Bank currently provides food to over 1,400 families each month.

The new high tunnel will help extend the growing season, allowing for the cultivation of summer leafy greens even during the hottest months, and the weed-and-brush mower will help the Farm maintain its growing areas year-round.
“Thank you to Fair Oaks Rotary for supporting the Food Bank and Farm,” said Foundation Founder & CEO Brad Squires. “Our programs thrive because of our community support, and this is a perfect example of how partnerships make a real, lasting difference.”
